More MPG numbers

My Friday work communt numbers were 65.1 miles traveled at an estimated 52.5 mpg.

This weekend I made a round trip of 152.8 miles traveling at an estimeated 53.2 mgg.

Commute MPG

Yesterday's work commute was 58.0 miles at an estimated 52.4/mpg showing on the odometer.

My 2010 Honda Insight has a terrific set of brakes. The brakes have ABS. So if you need to slam hard on them, which I had to do once, it stops quickly and holds straight, no swerving or out of control feeling. On the other hand, it response just right to a light touch. I have never felt more confident about the brakes in a car than these.

My last car was a 2001 Hyundai Elantra. So I had it for about 7 years. It was a very nice car too. It had many pluses except I never felt comfortable about it's brakes. Because I did not fully trust them I always drove with a little extra distance from the car in front of me. One time that extra distance saved me from having a more serious front end accident!!

BTW, brakes on the Insight are disk in the front and drum in the rear.

Recent mpg calculation

I wish to share my experience with my 2010 Honda Insight. It was purchased in May 2009. Currently the odometer shows 19503 miles. The last time I filled up with gas I recorded 48.9/mpg though the odometer registered 51.4/mpg. After many tank fillings I typically find the odometer reading to be 2-3/mpg higher. I don't know which is more accurate. So averaging the two numbers I got 50.1/mpg.
